Drishyam 3 Opens Strong Hanuman Ansh Gains Later

Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3: The Conclusion opened with a surge of advance bookings and weekend collections, while Hanuman Ansh, a devotional drama, gained momentum only after weeks of slow starts.
Drishyam 3: The Conclusion Dominates Early
The third installment of the Drishyam franchise arrived with strong pre-release demand. Over nine days of advance sales, it grossed Rs 101.90 crore, including blocked seats, with 30.04 lakh tickets sold across 83,311 shows. The film’s opening weekend, Rs 176.50 crore, reflected its status as the most anticipated Hindi release of the season.
This outpaced its predecessors: the original Drishyam (2015) opened with just Rs 5.85 crore, while Drishyam 2 (2022) started at Rs 15.38 crore.

A Devotional Drama’s Unlikely Longevity
Hanuman Ansh, by contrast, began with minimal buzz. However, positive reviews and word-of-mouth shifted its trajectory. By Week 3, collections rose to Rs 10.40 crore, and by Week 5, it cleared Rs 90.25 crore.
Its slow burn into a sleeper hit shows how devotional films can thrive when audience trust grows over time. The studio now plans to expand its universe with a Telugu-dubbed version, comic books, and a sequel exploring Neem Karoli Baba’s life further.
Two Films, Two Paths
The contrast between the two films highlights how box office success can hinge on timing and audience expectations. Drishyam 3 leveraged an established fanbase and Devgn’s star power to secure a strong opening, while Hanuman Ansh relied on persistence and cultural resonance to extend its run. Both demonstrate that in Indian cinema, early momentum and patient storytelling can each drive profitability, just in different ways.
